MOLCHAT DOMA x SPOT

The Belarusian cold-wave band Molchat Doma, originally from Minsk, is seeking to set itself apart by adopting a bolder, more original, and brighter artistic direction, while preserving its brutalist visual identity. To address this challenge, I designed their new identity and chose to unveil it through the visual communication for a weekend of concerts held at the Minsk Skatepark. As the band shares an interest in this discipline, having already commercialised skate decks, this event, rooted in their home city, aims to be both family-friendly and authentic. It caters to fans, skateboarding enthusiasts, and those curious to discover either the sport or the band’s music. The visual identity is deployed directly throughout the venue and accompanied by merchandise (T-shirts, beanies), allowing the public to leave with souvenirs while bringing the communication of this new brand image to life.

MEMPHIS MOVEMENT

Founded in Italy in the early 1980s by designer Ettore Sottsass, the Memphis movement was an architecture and design collective. It radically opposed the modernism and functional minimalism of the era by championing extravagance. Its aesthetic is characterised by asymmetrical geometric shapes, bright colours, and bold graphic patterns.
